Let’s be honest, it’s probably not your skills or equipment - I am willing to bet you have all the synths/cameras/paints/software you need to create excellent work.

Chances are, what you’re missing is a clearly stated offer, a solid sense of the overall journey of your client experience, and a warm and stellar intake process.

The things that all make a client feel understood, led, and taken care of by you.

Let’s get one myth of the coaching industry out of the way - you DO NOT have to make people feel bad in order to sell to them. You do not have to begin your conversations by scaring them into what a failure they’ll be if they don’t work with you and pressuring them into making investments they feel bad about.

In fact over time this will cost you the trust and confidence of your community, and if you start hard-selling everyone you talk to as soon as you meet them, you’re unlikely to make many friends (or sales!).

What you do need is a solid understanding of who benefits from your work, why, and what they need from you to feel confident about the experience of choosing to work with you.

I say this as both a facilitator as well as a happy client of many artists, coaches, and professionals - people want to pay you to have valuable experiences with you and your work!
